A female Nepali student was found dead in her hostel room on the 15th, with authorities treating it as an alleged suicide. The incident sparked massive demonstrations, primarily by Nepali students, who claimed university officials failed to act on the deceased's harassment complaints against a male student. Following the protests, police arrested the accused student based on an FIR filed by the victim's cousin. Initially, the administration asked Nepali students to leave campus until the inquiry concluded, but later appealed for them to return to classes.
